Strange phenomenon in CART racing (just bought it)

I mostly bought CART/ICR2 so i could get the Sprint Car patch when it comes out
and to convert Phoenix to GPL (hey it was only 5 bucks and i got a second copy
of N1 with it).  Anyway i played the game with Indy cars and found out it would
actually get some use so i went about downloading the usual upgrade stuff (99
carset, new sounds, the free track converter, converted Homestead track...etc).
Anyways the odd thing i noticed...especially on the converted tracks such as
C***te and Atlanta is the car just "washes out" in the middle of the corner.
Almost like when a real race car blows a right rear.  The car just goes into
snap oversteer without my moving the wheel.  I noticed this too at other tracks
but not michigan which is similar to the problem converted tracks.  Is the game
really that "throttle sensitive" or is this a bug?

Thanks in advance,
Chris

If you're using version 1.01 or less it might be the
excessive-oversteer bug that got patched in v1.02.

It's on the ICR2 page of Sim***world, ina subdivision called Sprint Cars.
Also, click on the flags in the upper left corner of the main page to see some
more screenshots.

I know your problem.. it happens often on those D-shaped tracks that you
convert to Icr2.  Even if you tried an extreme understeering car.. it will
happen. I guessed that it was a limitation of the game engine.  The most
banked track in the game was Michigan.. and if you create a very loose car
it will happen (the snap oversteer).  So I guess any track with more banking
at high speed will make this happens.

It's a bummer... I liked Talladega N2 with Icr2 cars (adjusted the speed of
the AI), but there's always that snap-oversteer that can happen in
0.1seconds.  You need total control of the car.  It's the only good thing
about that.  You really need to focus totally on the car's tiny adjustments,
and you really start to feel the car.

I'm really sure that it has something to do about banking and the car...
Try Bristol, 'Dega, or RedRock.  All are impossible.  The engine isn't
designed to simulate high banks well.

yes, and another thing is that it is impossible to keep from cooking the
tires, too. Bristol, for some reason, seems a lot harder to get around
than I would've thought, too... You'd think it would be flat out with
all that banking...
