Put these new lines under "strategy base pitting cost" in the ai track
entries.

ai_pacing_distance = 2.1

ai_bunching_distance = 2.1

ai_drafting_distance = 1.13

ai_panic_decel = 12.0

ai_dlongpad_scale = 2.8

I got the ai_dlongpad_scale line out of the Glen's ini file. It has
something to do with braking. Also the bunching distance has nothing
to do with actual racing it refers to how the cars bunch up right
before the green flag drops. Only drafting distance deals with racing.
I played with this number for a while and finally decided on the 1.13,
any lower and there's a little too many wrecks for my taste.

ONE NOTE: I have the >>ai_wall_offset = 100<< in my ini file as well
right under the ai_arcade_drag_modifier. I know some people don't use
this but I feel it makes the wrecks much more realistic because the
cars don't drive up into one another and it seems that less cars get
caught up in the wrecks. Almost every wreck I have seen have been two
cars getting together and tagging the outside wall in the turns. I
have yet to see any serious pileups. Also make sure you have full pace
lap enabled. I also have my field trimmed to 30 cars and I haven't
tried more so your mileage may vary.

One other thing, the cars don't seem to pass well on this track but
they will pass sometimes. I think this is more of an ai coding issue
and is not easily corrected (I hope I'm wrong) The field also stays
fairly bunched up and doesn't spread out too terrible much. I hope
these work for everyone so at least we can enjoy Martinsville until a
patch comes out. Please try and fiddle with these numbers as well to
see if you can make any improvements.

If you are having too may wrecks with these numbers try changing the
drafting distance to 1.14 or 1.15 and see if this helps. If the ai is
racing great at 1.13 then try lowering it to 1.12 or 1.11. Just play
aroung with them. Have fun.
