CART Fury Championship Racing Preview

Gamespot has a preview up for CART Fury Championship Racing for the
PS2.

It looks like they didn't bother to update the drivers and teams, as
it has Vasser racing for Ganassi with Honda engines.

Gee, you know it's gotta be a quality racing game when there's a
"demolition"  mode....

It's a racing game, not a sim.  Never claimed to be a sim nor should it have
been a sim.  You might not agree with their tactics, but CART is going to
have a very good summer in the marketing department.  A videogame that is
intended to sell and a movie that is intended to draw in the mindless
masses.  Neither is realistic, but both will raise awareness of the sport.

Unless either (or both) is *so* mindlessly stupid, that it casts
the series in a strongly negative light.  (I'm thinking more of the
movie here.)  Time will tell, but I'm not holding my breath.  :(

And for those who say "any publicity is good publicity", how are
sales of Firestone-shod Ford Explorers nowadays?  :)

"But in a way, fear is a big part of racing, because if there was
nothing to be frightened of, and no limit, any fool could get into
a motor car and racing would not exist as a sport." -- Jim Clark

I wasn't planning on it being a sim.  However having two year old
teams and a demolition mode is not helping CART any.
