I've been given a DVD drive, but it has no markings on it that give away the
manufacturer or model.
If I replace my CDROM with it, what will I need to do about a driver, or
will W98 recognise it?

It'll recognise it no probs. :). Even the win98 boot disk should find it no
probs.

The Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, along with PowerDVD XP 4 with DTS support and
the Klipch ProMedia 5.1 setup I have really rocks for Movies. If I were
forced to give up either my living room setup or my computer setup at
gunpoint, the living room setup would exit, stage-right.
