Don't forget that, for a software compagnie,
it's a shame to miss Christmast, and Microprose
have enought troubles to miss this period.
The FNAC, the leader software shop in France just
told me, this afternoon, that the release date for here
is September 4 (1995 of course ;)).
I keep the hope and still believe in Geoff.
Geoff, please, don't destroy your game to fit with smalls
computers ...

Boy is Microprose full of it. Not only does no one seem to know when
it will be out, but now they say there's no more upgrade pricing.

I would still buy the game even if they say that the game is unplayable.
Please please release it....

What do we want? I would LIKE to have GP2 right NOW but I much prefer to have a top quality
release. If that means waiting until Geoff finishes a masterpiece (and maybe sneaks a look at
ICR2 as well to blow it away!), I'm happy to do that.
Be patient and trust Geoff not to disappoint us, he hasn't so far.
Cheers!
John

This is only a bad rumor. Who do you think the designers are when they
can bring you stuffs like F1GP/Word Circuit? When they are "real" software
designers, do you think they only test the product at the final stage, and
find out that it doesn't run well on a Pentium 133? Get real. Good software
designers (like Geoff) must code and test along. He must have a very good
idea of how well the game should run on present technology, even when the
game is only half-finished. This bad rumor must be spread by some jerks
who know absolutely nothing about software design, and maybe haven't even
taken an elementary programming course before.
The game is on its way out, and we should all be patient. Do you think
MicroProse/Spectrum Holobyte will slash a project which has gone underway
for months, invested a tremendous amount of money, advertised to the general
public, just like that? Get real. If I am the company president, I will be
real embarrassed and rather kill myself.

This may not quite be true. Remember, there are several 3D texture-mapped
graphics cards being designed (some even released) at the moment. It's
not unreasonable to assume that Mr Crammond is using one or more of these
boards in development. If so, a very large amount of rendering work is
taken away from the processor, leaving it 'coasting along' calculating
physics.
Obviously, at this stage, Microprose would like it to run wothout a 3D
accelerator, and this may be giving problems with the rendering load
being shifted back to the CPU.
On the plus side, these boards are in the 100-250 price range, so we'll
probably all have one by March, when they'll be even cheaper...
Just my opinion.
Cheers,
Darren.

I agree on that. I am pretty anxious to play it on my P-120 but I
prefer to see the game finished without any cuts, downgrades or bugs.
I can handle the waiting even if the game is only released in March. I
have great expectations about it.
One last thing. It has to have good network/cable support. It will be
10 times better that way.
Good work Geoff.
