I thought "That's very nice, but why?". I've only just stumbled on the
thread about the new track as I filter for messages with GPL in the subject.
Great news!

Sorry Tony....I should've explained why in the Subject line....or at least
included "GPL".

"No worries" Bruce - it was the original posting that really needed GPL in
the subject. BTW, I have a load of old "Motorsport" mags from the 60's and
there is at least one report on the Solitude GP I can remember. I don't have
a scanner (yet) but I'll dig them out if they'll help.

A load of MotorSport from the 1960's? You lucky devil!! There'd be some good
stuff in that collection, I'm sure :-)

I was thinking that if you can select some nice shots to get scanned, Tony,
I could include them with the others. No rush...whenever you can get them
done, just drop me a note.

I bought the magazines last year through an advert in the local paper - 10
for just under 30 years' worth! They are a few about 1960 and they are more
or less complete from 63 or so. I spent _many_ hours reading them through in
order and it came as a horrible shock when I opened the next one to find the
report of Jim Clark's death, quite took me back all those years. I haven't
bothered with many much after that apart from some reading of the reports of
the Nigel Mansell GPs.

I think my favourite item was someone breaking his throttle cable at Spa. He
got out and unthreaded it then drove back to the pits with one arm back over
the engine, pulling the cable to operate the throttle!
