T-2 Wheel problem

by JTW620 » Tue, 02 May 2000 04:00:00

My T-2 window won't calibrate or function properly.  It works in DOS games
like Indycar Racing II, but it won't recognize the wheel from the control panel
in Windows95.  What's going on?  When I plugged it in, it shows up as joystick
2.  I used a custom set up for a 2 axis, 4 button joystick (there's 2 panel
buttons plus the gear shifter).  It will read the pedals and panel buttons
(1&2), but not the wheel or gear shifter (buttons 3&4).  HELP!!

Well, if it shows up as a joystick, then at least it's recognizing
SOMETHING...<g>  Are you using the adapter?  IIRC, there's an option in the
joystice device list for a T2 with adapter, and T2 without adapter.  Look for
those.  If that doesn't work, double-check all your connections.  Maybe a cable
has come loose...  Other than that...I dunno yet...
Good luck!

Try the Thrustmaster support page here..
http://www.thrustmaster.com/support/formula.htm

Please read the details about "with adapter" or "without adapter".

Jason.

It will need to be joystick #1 for most Windows programs to find and use
it....

T-2 Wheel problem

by JTW620 » Wed, 03 May 2000 04:00:00

Thanks, guys.  Still no go.  I went to the Thrustmaster site and followed the
directions.  It said if I don't have Direct-X 5.0 to download Propane (or
whatever it was called!) to install it.  That at least got the option for
Thrustmaster controls into the control panel.
The serial number indicates it's a wheel without an adapter, but the option
as they quoted doesn't show up in the control panel.  It shows:
 Thrustmaster Formula 1 w/combined pedals
Thrustmaster Formula 1 w/seperate pedals
 Thrustmaster Formula T1/T2 Driving System

Shows some others too, but nothing w/without adapter shows up anywhere as the
site says.  The site did say something about a driver though, I haven't
installed any driver!  Maybe that's part of it.  However, the pedals do show up
(Joystick 2) and work.  From ICR2, the wheel is joystick 1 and works ok, so I
know the thing isn't broken.  Where do I go from here?  Driver?  Where?
  Thanks for you help!
