I own a Gateway P-133; 16 ram; Ensoniq VIVO soundcard; Matrox MGA Storm
video card.
Problems: If I install Nascar2 without the UniVBE drivers, everything
seems ok except the screen freezes up for a second or two, about every
10 seconds. I saw the note in the Readme file that said N2 was having
freezing up problems with the Matrox Millinium card, but I wasn't sure
if that also affected my Matrox card. Does anybody know? Does anyone
know how to fix it? Do you think I need a newer driver?
Also: If I load the UniVBE drivers the game runs fine & there is no
screen freeze problem. But it creates another problem. As soon as I
exit the UniVBE set up screen, an approx. 2" black box attached itself
to my mouse pointer & follows it around the screen. It then stays with
it when I exit back out to my WIN95 desktop. It only goes away if I
reboot my computer. It also puts a 2" black box sitting to the left of
center on the screen when using all pages in Nascar2. This box never
goes away on the screen. If I could get rid of this box everything
would be ok.
I installed the game in WIN95 & am running it through WIN95. I tried
to install it in DOS but it didn't want to recognize my T2 in the setup
menu, so I haven't been able to run it in DOS.
Myself & others on the newsgroup have been having some of these same
problems. Does anyone have any ideas on how to help us out? Please be
gentle...I am a newbie to all of this :-)
Thank you.
