gpl - header problems

by MJS » Sat, 08 Apr 2000 04:00:00

I've just started using manuel gearchanges in gpl and i seem to be having a
lot of problems with the header. The last 2 race i've had to retire from
with header problems. Is this a coincidence or am i doing something wrong ?
I'm using the eagle and setups by moses.

The Weslake Engine in the Eagle is probably the most unreliable engine in
the game, and the most fragile: treat it badly, and it'll break. Always
"burp" the engine when shifting up, don't shift down too quickly, or you can
over-rev it, and don't push it (and hold it) at the redline for any length
of time; better to upshift at around 9500rpm to avoid damage until you get
used to shifting correctly

Forgot to add, sometimes, it'll just break anyway, even if you haven't
mis-treated it. Most of Gurney's DNFs in the Eagle were engine related.
