I got the demo on a cd from PC Gamer Magazine. I ilked it . You get to race on
a Hollywood track with some offbeat scenes (a running, flaming T-Rex comes to
mind) The cars drove good and sounded good. Really "throaty" exhaust note. very
realistic. Let me know if anyone has the full game

Hi..

In my opinion Carmageddon 2 sucks.
I liked playing Carmageddon 1 alot, but the sequel ain't worth it.

Dethkarz on the other hand is ALOT of fun.

The Karz handles very well enabling powerslides, wild overtaking and
so on, the graphics is pretty damn good, the tracks are well built and
at some points pretty challenging.

Also the shooting part of the game is very funny, just remember that
if you smoke someone, don't be to near him when he blows up, you will
experience a quite disorientating blue flash, and your screen will
shake wildly.

Myself and two others had a lot of fun racing against each other over
LAN.

On my P2-266/64 MB Ram/8 MB Voodoo2 this thing runs totally smooth
with all graphics options on at 800x600.

Just remember that this is NOT a sim, so don't be disappointed on that
account!.

My wife (who seems to ME to be anti-Racing) also loves Carmageddon.  The
3DFX patch makes one HELLUVA difference!!! Anyway, PC Accelerator said
DethKarz was "very pretty, fun to play, but short on depth."  Whaddaya want
from a game that's more shoot 'em up than racing?  I have the Carmageddon 2
demo but haven't messed with it much.  First thing I noticed was that now
you drag the pedestrians with your car after you hit 'em.  Better sounds,
too.

I beta tested Spped Buster. Its a pretty cool arcade racer. The cars are
awesome and handling is a lot like Test Drive 5. Graphics are stunning.
Carmageddon 2 is not as good as 1. Everything has been steped up, maybe too
much. Still a lot of bugs with it, a couple of patches have been released
already. I would wait until either it becomes more stable or it ends up in the
cheap bin at the software store.

No way.. Carmageddon 2 makes Carmageddon 1 look like a kiddies game.. I find
it thoroughly entertaining.. Like the way you can push big boulders off the
sides of hills and then watch it roll down and run over poor slow
pedestrians.. or the way that you can push logs and stuff onto people, or
that ball and chain where you get huge bonus points if you hit someone with
it. Or the improved damage model. Carmageddon 1 was good, Carmageddon 2 is
just absolutely amazing..  Do yourself a favour and grab Carma 2.. you won't
be sorry.. :)

I have the full version. It rocks! Its not a "sim" but does have
pretty good car physics as far as cornering ect..  Incredible
graphics. A little on the hard side but its good enough to keep coming
back to. The best racing game of its type that ive played in some
time. It tops NFS III imho.
