For the life of me I can't understand why Daytona or Indy has such a
hard time releasing the rights to there name so a track pack can be
added on.  If someone out there can make a Daytona track GO FOR IT.
We've been waiting for two years now for Daytona, but if thier going to
give thier name out to a low profit SEGA game then its thier loss.  Why
should we be punished for Daytona making bad business deals.  Before
anyone e-mails me hate mail, I'm sure there is a logical thinking behind
Daytona's and Indy's way of thinking.  It might be Rusty Wallace is
whining "now anyone can race at Daytona."

Somebody should just come up with the appropriate track editors (not the
ones who want to keep them away from the public) and then go about making
the tracks.  Eventually somebody will and there's not a DAMN thing Daytona
and Indy can do about it.

You do understand that if someone was to develop and sell or distribute a
Daytona track they would
have litigation brought against them by Daytona Speedway - right ?   So
long as the USA speedway as it
is called is only a converted Talladega track - they don't care much.
When "the Pits" starting doing serious
work in this area - Daytona threatened legal action.  This is a shame.

I don't think that it'd like to see a track editor released to the public.
After
a while there would be several copies of every track and a ton of Indys
and
Daytona (maybe I'm exagerating a bit). Not only would that get the
creators of the track in trouble (yes, Indy, Daytona and the rest
can do something about it), but it also reduces
our chances of ever seing a Daytona or Indy from Papyrus (if Daytona
or Indy, or the rest get upset at people for making illegal tracks, they
probably aren't going to give the license to Papyrus.. "Who cares if
Papyrus ever
makes a Daytona or Indy, when we can make them ourselves?" you might
think. I think that in this case quality over quantity is better, and I
think that
Papyrus would be able to make a more realistic Daytona or Indy (remember,
they can get better specifications for the tracks). Would you rather see
10 home-made Daytonas, or 1 Papyrus Daytona?

I would much rather see 10 homemade Daytonas than 0 actual Daytonas while
we all wait (hope?) for an 'official' Daytona track to come out.   There
would also be absolutely nothing anybody could do about it if the author
of the track chose to remain anonymous.

Ok, let's say we get Daytona.  I'd bet my life that their would be a
bunch of people saying - "aaahhhhhhhhhhhhh mmmmmmmaaaaaaannnnnnn, I
thought it would be better.  I whine whine whine whine. etc, etc..."

So the fact is we don't have Daytona.  We're not going to get Daytona.
Why the **** should I have to constantly see the same posts (albeit from
different people) about the same subject?  Even if we could get Daytona
I'd bet that it would be the most anti-climatic experience many of us
have ever had.

Yeah, it's the holy grail of stock car racing.  Just like the Super Bowl
is the holy grail to Packer fans.  When the Pack won Super Bowl 31, it
was anti-climatic.  The e***ment just wasn't there like it was in
getting to the game.  The same thing for Daytona.  The e***ment is in
getting it, not in having it.
