>Woo-hoo!

There's the minor matter of the fact he's under contract to another
team...  And who wants him anyway with his *1* lifetime win...

Let Luca Badoer have the seat until Schumi returns and give Irvine the
chance to show what he's made of as a team leader.

I can't believe Schumacher broke his leg. Not seeing one of the greatest
drivers of all time ruins the season for me.

Doesn't that "other team" use older Ferrarri engines? If so this
could be part of the price :-)

Yes, it sure is a disappointment hope Schumi gets better soon, too
bad Ferrari can't get his brother Ralph to jump in the Ferrari,
what a stomping performance from Ralph so far this season in that
dog of a Williams.

Hoping that Mika doesn't run away with the championship now, despite
the fact that I like Mika, an easily won championship somehow just
doesn't mean as much as a close fought one.

Yeah, who the hell wants to post in r.a.s.f1, where any post on any
subjects starts a flame war of gargantuan proportions? I prefer to
stick to chatting with the people I know and respect.

Cheers!

Indeed John!!

I was a regular reader and poster on r.a.s.f1 for years but gave up about
two years ago when that newsgroup degenerated into nothing besides
driver and nationality bashing, (if I liked that I'd be an IRL fan :-)

Much better to discuss things with the nice people in r.a.s. and after
all racing is not too far OT for this newsgroup especially compared to
some of the flamefests here lately.

Besides I don't see Zonkie contribute much to this newsgroup
other than start bandwidth-wasting flame threads with his attempts
at being newsgroup topic policeman.

(Just so I am on-topic), I was looking at that same corner on GPL's version
of Silverstone and if Schumacher had the same crash in 1967's Silverstone
at that speed, the dirt banking would have launched him into orbit, lucky
for him he had a tire wall to stop him.

Alesi was probably holding a gun at Pete's head.  Of course if it had been a
Sauber gun it wouldn't have worked anyway...

Actually Alesi turned down the offer to replace Schumi for the next
few races, saying he didn't want to come back under these conditions
and would prefer to be Schumi's teammate, not a temporary replacement.
It looks like either Badoer or Salo will fill in.  As someone else in
this thread stated, Sauber uses Ferrari engines and was willing to
loan Alesi based on their working arrangement.

That's very nice.

I just heard that Ed the Talking Horse would be the replacement.
Unfortunately, my source (this can of beer) is extremely unreliable.

How's your source?
