Flips in NCR2 (How'd ya do dat)

Well, I tried and tried and tried for like an hour, practice mode,
race mode, all event sessions all track events, and no matter where I
hit the curbs in 1-2 or 3-4 or at what speed, was I ever able to get
more than about a scale 6" bounce out of the left side either braking,
coasting, or accelerating. Tried it as someone said that's hoe they
got it to happen at Martinsville.

  Ron,
did you actually go back and look at the replay?  I have screen shots
of me in the air - two different times - at Martinsville.  If anyone
wants, I'll e-mail them; and, NO, I did NOT use PSP to do these pics (as
I have been accused).

I have also had my car "flip" up at Martinsville in T 1-2 (I
think).  I had some screen shots of it but got rid of them.  There's
a spot right in the middle of T1 and T2 that if you get into the
grass, you'll go up on two wheels.  I didn't really notice that It
had happened from inside the car, but when I reviewed the
replay checking my line, it was definately there.

Check it out at http://www.racesimcentral.net/~junior/flippr.htm.  I uploaded the
replay too so you can see the whole thing for yourself.

Hey,  I had the SAME thing happen to me at Martinsville.  At first I
thought I was just imagining things, but then I look at the replay and
yes it was, a car in the air.  Although it wasn't me, like you(I
think), it was still a cool thing!!

Yup, I like the replay too.
Point of interest though folks. I never said I didn't believe it, I
just said I couldn't duplicate it and asked how they did it so I could
see if needed to try something different than I was doing.

Thanks

Ron

FWIW, Martinsville is the ONLY track where this occurs, and even then, it
wasn't
intentional.  It's due to some faulty programming, I believe.  Jim S. has
already
addressed this, and (hopefully) we will have full flipping (maybe working
roof flaps?  Jim?  Comments on that?) in N3.

I have saved SEVERAL screen shots of myself at Martinsville, if
anyone's interested.  Different cars and different races, all at the
same track.

I doubt we're going to see any OFFICIAL capability to flip the cars,
it didn't sound like NASCAR was to up on that idea from what I
remember reading when they (papyrus) was making N2.

Probably not but it's still a part of the sport (not a good part, but...)
and some of us realism freaks would like to see the cars flip in our sim.
Until some smarty at NASCAR *really* figures out a way to keep the cars
on the ground then cars will continue to get airborne.
