Actually it was a old show on Jaguar and they took an XK220 off the
dealers floor and ran it around the Ring to see how she performed box
stock vs. other high performance cars. It was the fastest production
car time ever (whenever this show was made)..

I don't get it. How can '67 400 bhp F1 monster race cars driven by Clark &
co. be slower than a Jag and Porsche sports car on a first lap out (I'm
referring to the two documentaries made)? Do modern-day sportsers really
have such amazing aerodynamics?

Well, I think aerodynamics and better tires and brakes have a lot to do with
it. Even high end street tires are better than those crappy F1 race tires they
used to use the 60's. Tire technology has really come a long way...as has
everything else :-)

The start und ziel does not exist anymore, the track turns right after
Hohenrain and carries on into Hatzenbach
