So by braking earlier, I'm losing on maximum speed in the straights, right?  I
already seem to braks earlier than everyone I race(AI or online).

Eldred - who's taking his holiday vacation to beat the HELL outta GPL...

Currently a love/HATE relationship...<g>
I'm just trying to find whatever special idea, tip, technique that will make it
all fall into place...

So...when DO you shift?

Hard to forget, it's the only time I've been ahead of you on the track
in GPL, and as far as I can remember, it's also the only time we've
tangled from all the laps we've run together in various sims, so it
kinda stands out from the crowd :-)

Come to think of it, I've punted Stu off the track several times, and
he's my teammate....

Uhh, cops in the UK don't carry guns do they ?

Beers and cheers

Using Parabolica as an example, I brake down to entry speed (or just
above) first, *then* I give her 3 quick downshifts.  You'll find that
trying to use the downshift to help slow you down just upsets the car
many times & makes it harder to control.  I used to do that all the
time, by instinct.  It wasn't until I broke myself of that habit that I
was able to manage a sub-1:30 time at Monza.

That sounds like what I need to try.  I downshift the same way as you mentioned
before.  Probably picked up the technique from GP2 also...<shrug>
Back to the track...
Thanks.
