Burnout Key

There is this key that i pressed in burnout today, it was something like 0.
when i pressed it the engine instantly blew and bonnet flew off. Is this
some sort of nitris button?, or is it just for fun so you can blow your
engine up? Also, when competing, i have bit quicker et's than other cars,
but their mph is so much higher then mine, how do i get quicker mph?

To expand on what Rick has said do the following. After making
a pass go to your Telemetry Tab in the shop and review your run. You
want the car to max out the RPM in your final gear just as you cross the
finish line. Once you get up to about 10500 RPM your engine is maxed
out.(depending on your HP curve) If you have hit 10500 or so before
you have reached the finish line try dropping your final gear ratio by
.1 or your rearend gear by .1, keep dropping until the car doesn't go
any faster. Watch your ET doesn't slow, as it is obviously the more
important of the two!
