mistakenly named gplflagman, it allows you to move the adjust the
pitboard guy (with your laptimes on) to different settings.  just
something for people who don't like digging in the ini files
themselves.

ps. anybody who has made up a much more comprehensive .ini file than
mine and wants to share it, pass it on.  i can make it part of the
default setup for others.

I had this wonderful Dire Straits live tape I recorded off the
radio...lousy mixing, poor sound, but the live arrangements were cool.  It
was at the Big Freedom Fest shindig back in the 80's,  raising money to end
Apartied in South America...(dunno how Isti feels about that)  but Dire
STraits was the headlining band...trouble was the rythm guitarist was not
available, his wife was giving birth to twins...so Mark Knoffler got a stand
in...they played a song or two, and then he appologized for getting a
substitute, somebody who had never played at Wembley Stadium,,,that somebody
was Eric Clapton...

apartheid in South America?  Ai ya yai(dunno how to spell that).

speaking of mr knopfler.  is it just me or did he always seem p*ssed
out of his skull whenever he went up to get awards and stuff.  or did
he really just speak like that?

there is a nice dvd some of you might like.  "music for montserrat".
mark knopfler explains how sting was incorporated on the "Money for
nothing" single, etc.   nice if you happen to like a little bit of
mark knopfler, phil collins, sting, paul mccartney, elton john, etc.

Regards all,
istoff

First RAS'ers sorry for this OT!!
I never heard about this Dave but IIRC I believe this was during Eric's
black years?{i.e. totally consumed with herion} I make no excuses for
anyone who ended down this path & I never will but I've never heard
about the story you just stated. Of course it is possible under the state
that I mentioned!
As you know, EC is one of the most reveared 'Rock'Blues Guitarist'
in the world now but the "God" thing irritates the hell out of him as he
does not like the so called "tag" one bit as he feels its very ill-reverent
but thats an entire other story...lol
I'm still lucky & really enjoyed the few times I was on stage with EC
and many other rock-blues & jazz artist in the 60s-70s & 80s... :-)
Btw: I never had the luxory to meet Mark Knoffler but he is another
great guitarist but there are so many since rock & guitar became the
main signature to many rock groups. Yes I play guitar too. Just like
a million others..lol
