Annoying GP3-2000 behaviour

by Martin Gol » Thu, 03 Jan 2002 18:42:11

Recently I bought GP3-2000. I played GP2 before. There are two things
that are really annoying in GP3-2000.
The first is that the car gets its fuel reset to 4-lap-fuel-load and new
tires are put on the car when I come to my pit crew. Very odd behaviour
when testing.
The second I don't like -- no I really hate it -- is that "auto-crusing"
of the car. After spinning the car starts to drive by itself. That makes
it hard to turn to the right direction after spinning by 180 degrees.
I'm missing that power turn "gear" GP2 had. Also, I often see it when
spinning, that the car only spins by 180 degree. It doesn't help
steering to the left or to the right when going backwards to make it
easier to drive in the right direction. The car either drives straight
backwards or stops.
Does anybody have some tips/hints how to handle that "spinning problem"
(besides avoiding spinning, of course)?

Thanks,
Martin

THis is a prob with GP3 (and GP3-2k).
1. Yes, everytime you pit, it will reset your tyres and feul. Major pain.
Also check your tyre selection when in race pitstops too.
2.  The car is like an automatic where there is always acceleration when in
gear.  If you select first and don't hit the gas pedal, you're already doing
30kms per hour.  When spinning, it is a pain to correct, but if you hold in
a gear change button, it acts like a clutch and most times allows you to
correct.  But get on teh grasss and sayonora...

But despite the graphics, it's the best offline F1 (modern) racing to be had
(and the new 3D sounds shits all over GPXPATCH -sorry guys, had to say it
about the sounds) but GPXPATCH with the onscreen timing is the bees knees.

Thanks or the hints.

Where can I get GPXPATCH from?

Yes - at least as far as I know. This behaviour is always shown, no
matter if driving with keyboard or steering wheel. Very odd. That was
way better in GP2.
Any other idea?

Turn off throttle help or hold down gear changer.

Also turn off the auto spin correction. Throttle help is a big pain
too as Damien said.
