Also from the Papy press release...."the team is ready to expand their
expertise and explore new ideas for the racing genre on multiple
*** platforms."

Looks like they'll be making racing games for the PS2 and XBox...what
a waste.

Papy use to be good..but since they lost Charlie Heath, Ed Martin, Dave
and a bunch more, they are just another software company...and the
parent company Vivendi..is going down the tubes
http://www.racesimcentral.net/:V
...but it serves them right,
just another example of CE0s that have no ***ing clue about what they
are doing..

I'm with you Colin.  I bought NASCAR 3 knowing full well that I would run it
about 20 minutes and then go back to GPL.

Unfortunately, I only played with it about 10 minutes but I don't care.  I
like to think that in some small way I helped contribute to the release of
N4, which I raced extensively, and N2002 that I now race almost exclusively.

You gotta dance with who brung ya'.

That's a much more important point.  Funny all the EA trash talk by others
here, when everything back in 1995 was set for Electronic Arts to acquire
Papyrus.  Like I often wrote here, EA were the first publisher of Papyrus,
with Indy500: The Simulation, Nascar Racing 1, IndyCar Racing 2, all the
track packs for N1/Icr1 and finally Road Rash.

They were all published by EA. Finally, Sierra bought them (I remember that
being announced on Papy's website, wow how time pass by).

All the people here trashing EA, when we know how good the Jane's format
was.

If it means they will eventually (2004 at the earliest if you read
between the lines) make a modern open wheeler sim with a high quality
multiplayer component, how can that be bad news?  That was conjectured
in another thread and I think it makes a lot of sense.
