Will adding a second CPU help my simracing rig?

I have a question.  Wouldn't any multi-threaded application
automatically benefit from multiple processors if the OS is a SMP OS?
Stated another way, when you say that an application "supports SMP" or
is "designed for SMP" does it simply mean that it is multi-threaded?

As I asked/pointed out earlier I believe that any multi-threaded app
will gain from multiple cpu's.  Having said that though, the
performace gain will probably be very minimal with an app like N2002
AND I am willing to bet that a single 2.1 GHZ machine will outperform
a dual 1.8 GHZ machine when running N2002 any day of the week and cost
less.

I believe it will depend entirely upon the game.  GPL(not so much), but N4/N2002 are very
cpu-intensive, they may benefit immensely from a dual cpu setup.  You have to remember that in many
cases, the people asking about SMP, already have a dual capable system, but might not have added the
second cpu, or don't run these games on their SMP setup, instead running under Win9X instead.

Of course if they don't have the second cpu, good luck trying to find
a match...
