Does anybody else have a problem like this with NFS? When I load my game
with my boot disk, the opening video freezes and then it just puts me in a
race with no sound. Write back if you can help me or if you have the same
problem.

Check your interrupts... I had that problem when my sound card was conflicting
with my modem (PnP doesn't work very good in dos). Video freeze and no sound.
Changed the interrupt on my sound card and it's fine now.

Does your BOOT-disk load the right drivers for your soundcard and/or video ?
and the blaster env. set correct ?

Without the right drivers NO game will give you sound !
