Motocross madness competitors too loud !

Hello all !
I hope someone can help...
Just picked up MMM after having a ton of fun with the demo.
One thing bugs the hell out of me though, the competitor engine sounds are
heaps louder than my own ?

If I turn up the volume enough so that I can hear my own rider, when ever a
competitor comes close to me I have to cover my ears !

Does anyone know a solution ?
