Has anybody been messing with the rall.cfg in Rally Championship?

Currently running with

fizpatch=1; main switch active
patchstickygrass=0; sticky grass inactive
patchbrakegrip=50; default=100, min=10, max=200
patchslidegrip=80; default=100, min=10, max=200
patchdamages=70; default=100, min=0, max=100000

This gives the car a bit more 'throwability', and makes braking distance
twice as long. Any body any other tweaks to try?

Cheers, Mark.

  i had a site bookmarked that had a pre-mad ral.cfg file...but it requires
authorization to access now...pfffttt....  here's a league site that might
get you in contact via thier forum with other rallye'ers

A bit O/T, but I've become fascinated with the WRC this year (since there's
nothing else on Speedvision, er Speed Ch., worth watching), and I am AMAZED
at how much Rally Championship resembles what I see on the little screen.
I've spent a lot of time configuring Rallywiz, and I now have several
settings: Realistic (mainly getting rid of the Alien braking), Guest Driver
(everything made easy), Superman (everything maxxed out), and Soapy (little
or no traction).  Is it just me or is this the best rally game ever?

Rally Championship config

Here's what I've been using - can't give credit to who gave me the
values, though:

fizpatch=1; physics switch
noautoneutral=1; dont engage neutral after crash
sensiblesaving=1; save between stages
patchgravity=98; set gravity to 98% of normal gravity
patchdamages=200; set damage to 2x normal damage
patchbrakegrip=50
patchaccelgrip=110
patchslidegrip=95
patchgriptarmac=93
patchgripgravel=80
patchgripmud=93
patchgripsnow=88
patchgripgrass=85
sparksmode=1; display yellow sparks
patchmaxdrawdistance=16; set objects drawing distance
nofmv=1; no intro Full Motion View
mergejoy=1; merge different input devices       ;
patchstickygrass=0    ; I assume 1 is normal 0 is no stickygrass

HTH,
Kendt

PS - Gotta agree with you, Steve - No other Rally game has piqued my
interest.  Damn, why couldn't they keep the same developer and make a
WRC sequel?  Or even an expansion pack?  I still haven't picked up
Rally Trophy, at first waited for the patch, then decided I really
didn't like all the comments about the lame stages.
The new MS one looks a little interesting, but I've started to ignore
pre-release hype until at least a playable demo comes out - WSC,
anyone ;)?

I must admit that when I first got it I thought it was pretty poor. Since
having a tweak with Rallwiz though, I must admit its getting better (still
need to tweak the tarmac settings). Have to say the long stages are better
than CMR2.

Cheers for the website URL Dave, I shall go and have a proper look now.

Mark.

  It looks good thats for sure...thanks for the settings. I'll give em a
go...the web site I can't get to anymore was gonna mod RC for the 2002
season...I don't know how far along they are tho..
they did have the Peugeot 206's and Subi done..I imagine the Focus and
Mitsui would also be do-able...

I have the game and the patch to fix the physics, but I never got around to
editing them. I am not quite sure I like the idea of setting up all the
physics values myself because the developers got it so wrong... :-)

I'll give these values a try later.

Just because the developers got it wrong doesn't mean we can't make it
right.  It's good, clean fun...and you might enjoy the results.  If God
didn't intend for us to tweak the game, why did He give us Ralwiz?

    Check out the forum at this site.  They may have some basic parameters
that they allow to be changed and those that cannot.  Kinda like SCGT when
they started racing they had to limit the engine/suspension mods or the 4
door sedans would blow off an Audi R8!

I thought so back when I was beta testing it for MF, but when I said that
here I got flamed.

After the sim was released I got flamed some more.

After awhile I just gave up. :-)
