N3 speed (or lack thereof)

N3 speed (or lack thereof)

I did my first N3 online race last night.  I used one of my old "tried and
tested" setups and had a top 5 finish.  While I was racing down the back
stretch at Talledega hitting 200 mph, I was passed by other cars who must
have been doing at least 210 or more.  I thought that speeds like those were
not possible because of the restrictor plates.  Were the others cheating, or
are there setups that allow for such speeds?

Thanks,
Charlie

They must of been drafting together to pass you.  Were you all alone (i.e no
one in front or behind you) when this happened?

Charlie, were you passed by a pair of cars running together or more?
Drafting online at Dega really helps increase your speeds, shouldn't be by
quite that much, but may have appeared it to ya.
Either that, or indeed you had some cheaters that found a way to remove the
plate .

They were "not" drafting (in fact they weren't even without a few hundred
feet of each other).  One passed me on the back straight... the other went
screaming past me at the tri-oval. Strange.

Interesting how there are always accusations of cheaters in N3 but never in GPL.
Is it because N3 is that much easier to cheat with, or just that the maturity
level for the majority racing on VROC is that much more?

I look forward to N4 online - but I don't look forward to the crazy drivers that
I see on WON.  Even back on TEN is was pretty bad, but it was better than your
average pick-up race with today with N3.  Maybe when N4 comes out I'll finally
hook up with a league...

One of the secrets of Tally is guessing how much tape you can run for
the short distances most pickup races last.  And some of the hosts are
now trying ridiculously low race temperatures to increase their speed
and allowing them to add still more tape. 75% "might" last an 18 lapper.
Having said that, you may have found a pair of N3 cheaters.  I have
seen qualifying where one guy was 3 SECONDS faster than anyone
else(sorry I don't use mph...varies too much)
3 seconds faster than a field of 20+ guys is a HUGE variance and he was
obviously cheating.  Yes ***ia...there are
lowlifescumsuckingweaselgroveling cheaters even in sim racing.

Maybe it's because no one plays GPL, or maybe it's because it's
assumed that everyone racing on VROC is cheating to begin with, or
maybe......

Why does there always have to be a GPL angle to posts which have
NOTHING TO DO with GPL.  Sheesh!
