I've been trying to get this track for a while but I can't seem to find it.
Following the links from the GPLEA page get's me to the track but the link
there is broken and will not let me dowloand the track. Can someone please
point me to this track as I'd love to take the GPL cars around ... used to
love it in ICR2 (yeah, had it converted from N2).

So please post a link to Sears Point track.

Unfortunately the downloads from this site only seem to work from
within the USA, here in Europe for example we can't download anything
from that Homestead server. Weird.

Draft Dancer is a member of my tptcc league...I emailed him this morning
about mirroring it...Sears99 has a few issues because the originators
built it for N3 and the current Team Friendship version is a GPL conversion
of that effort...so technically he may have to also ask the original
builders
if he can allow a mirror....(I'll let ya'll know if he replies)

"The original makers" of that track have NOT authorized it to be released to
anyone, or by anyone.......let alone mirroring the track to other sites.
And, whomever wrote the "readme.txt" file included in the track was not
authorized to release it....or include the names of those responsible for
its production, most of whom have written to sites posting the track and
asking that the readme file be removed...or their names be removed from it.

Any place (website) we find it posted....gets sent to Havas Legal Department
pronto.  We are bound by a "cease and desist" letter of agreement to do
so....we don't have a choice in the matter.  Had this early version of the
track (and a very crappy one...I might add) not been pirated and
released....the full version with current graphics would have been available
to everyone...and authorized by Sears Point Raceway and SMI management.  All
the "leaked track" did was just***them off again!  What Havas chooses to
do with these websites is not a matter of my concern, or my business.  I do
know that it only takes one "letter" to an ISP...and you can kiss your
website goodbye!  That is a fact....we all know about ........from recent
history on the matter.

And all you guys are doing are helping Havas find locations where its
posted!

"For all inquires regarding the Sears99 track, please contact Tim McArthur".

Track posted with permision from Tim McArthur.

History link not affilated with Teamfriendship in any way.

Sears99, the most accurate version or the Sears Point Raceway tracks, is
finally available for GPL !  The creator and track editor of Sears99, Tim
McArthur, along with a small group of friends, spent nearly one year to get
this track "just right" for Nascar 3 and GPL.  While the Nascar 3 format has
been available for awhile, the GPL  version has remained unavailable until
now.

Teamfriendship "Fiddled" with Sears99's textures for quite some time now,
and after getting them to our satisfaction (and running out of ideas!),  we
approached Tim with the thought of sharing those results with our community.
Tim has graciously accepted our request to post Sears99 here.  Thanks Tim !

Funny... Sears99, Sears97, Sears01, Sears02 for N3 and NL are all posted at
http://www.racesimcentral.net/***world.com/html/tep/ and have been since June of 2000. No
one at Sim*** has recieved anything from Havas.

Ok, say you shut down one.  What about the 100 or so people who downloaded it
before you did?  After the first site closes, then 25-30 people put it on a
download site, because now it's 'difficult' to get.
Besides, does SP Raceway really object to getting all the publicity anyway?
Just curious...

Eldred, I think Tom is blowing smoke. Tim MacArthur ok'ed the release
and it's still on all the webpages I know of.
