Rule 1 -- Overview
1.1 S^2CRA is an association that provides a forum for owners of NASCAR
Racing by Papyrus
[v1.2+] (NRP) to compete against each other around the world.
1.2 S^2CRA is run by used the supplied drivers2.txt file and settings.
With
this, the competitors run
the race and sends his/her results to the director.
1.3 S^2CRA results are based upon how well you compete against the
simulator
and how those
results are compared to other participants. Points are awarded and a
series
champion is "crowned."
Rule 2 -- Setting up NRP for S^2CRA
2.1 S^2CRA can be run from either single race or championship season. (A
calendar file will be
supplied to those running in Championship season.)
2.2 The "official" drivers2.txt for this series will be sent to you as
changed. This file may not be
altered except your information, leaving the #95 as it is.
2.2a A complete car set is available, but not required.
2.3 S^2CRA consists of three (3) divisions: Winsten Cup, Busch Grand
National, and All Pro. You
may run only one (1) race per event.
2.4 You may run any car make you choose, and either tire for a given race.
2.5 You must edit your name in NRP to ensure you receive proper credit.
2.6 Any help may be used, i.e braking and shifting.
Rule 3 -- All Pro (AP) division
3.1 The AP division is a "rookie" division. It is designed for those
people
with little experience a
chance to get some.
3.2 AP requires a minimum of 15 opponents and 20% race length.
3.3 AP requires drivers to use a "default" setup. No changes except to
wheel
lock and fuel may be
made.
3.4 No changes may be made to the setup during pit stops.
Rule 4 -- Busch Grand National (BGN) Division
4.1 BGN is designed for those drivers with experience, yet need to gain
"wisdom".
4.2 BGN requires a minimum of 21 opponents and 40% race length.
4.3 BGN may use any setup they wish.
Rule 5 -- Winston Cup (WC) Division
5.1 WC is for those who are ready for that "Sunday Drive".
5.2 WC requires a minimum of 29 opponents and 60% race length.
5.3 WC drivers may use any setup they wish.
Rule 6 -- Running your race
6.1 Race settings are mailed to you the Monday prior to the race. Make
sure
NRP to adjust the
settings in NRP.
6.2 Run your qualifying session, no more than two may be make. Make note
of
your speed and
position.
6.3 No restarts are allowed after completing the first lap with the
exception
of a "glitch" or power
failure.
6.4 With the exception of changing your name, no changes may be made to
the
drivers2.txt file.
6.5 Do not cause cautions to your benefit yourself.
6.6 If you DNF, you must use the accelerated feature, pressing "A" while
on
the track.
6.7 Lagging back on restarts is not allowed.
6.8 If you win, you will may required to generate a .pcx file of your
victory.
To do so, after crossing
the finish line, press F1, then pause the game, then press and hold Print
Screen. This generates a
NASCAR**.PCX file in your NASCAR directory. (From 00 to 05)
Rule 7 -- Results
7.1 Upon finishing your race, save your results with the following naming
guidelines:
Begin it with A if you ran AP, B for BGN, or W for WC, then your first
initial, and then the first
four digits of your last name. Finally add the race #. So if I ran in
race
#6 of WC, I would save it as
WCKEEN06.STN, STN is the automatic extension. If your last name is less
than
four letters,
repeat the last one until four is reached.
7.3 You should rename the .pcx the same way, leaving the .pcx extension.
(Only if you win.)
7.4 Add your Real Name, Internet Address, car make, tire brand, qualifying
speed and position to
the end of your results file.
7.5a If you win, the series director may require you to submit your .pcx
file. If so, please zip it up,
7.6 Results are due to the director no later than 12pm the night of race
day.
Rule 8 -- Results and points
8.1 Finishing positions are determined by the following:
a) Laps completed
b) Finishing Position
c) Average Race speed
d) Qualifying position
e) Qualifying speed
8.2 Points will be awarded by your finishing position against the series
competitors. It will be based
on NASCAR's point system.
8.3 Results will be mailed to you.
Rule 9 -- Bonus Points
9.1 5 points awarded to leading a lap.
9.2 5 points awarded to leading most laps in your simulated race.
9.3 5 points awarded to leading most laps among series competitors.
9.4 Hard Charger Award - 5 points for biggest improvement from qualifying
to
finish spot.
9.5 Headache Award - 5 points for biggest loss from qualifying to finish
spot.
Rule 10 -- Miscelaneous
10.1 Above rules may change at anytime.
