How do you find it?
How do you fix it on your office?

I have a BRD Sim Classic which I bought 2 weeks ago. It is a fantastic
wheel. The build quality is superb and I just love the 11" red leather
Mountney wheel.
I have been surprised at how little I miss not having force feedback after
running with it for over 2 years. I find that I am able to be a lot more
precise with the Sim Classic than I could be with my Force RS. In the last
2 weeks of using the wheel my GPLRank has fallen from -16.92 to -20.76.
This improvement is solely down to the wheel since I already had the pedals
for it which I bought over a year before getting the wheel.
As to fixing it to my desk, I don't have this problem since I have a BRD
Race Frame. This has special mounting points just for BRD wheels. The more
normal method of mounting the wheel is by attaching it to a large plastic
pad which sits under your monitor. The weight of the monitor holds the
wheel in place. This doesn;t work if you use a flat panel of course. BRD
also sell special screws to allow you to attach the wheel to your desk
assuming you don;t mind having some extra holes in it.
If you want more information on the F1 Sim wheel I suggest you read Rick
Osborn's review of his wheel at:
http://www.racesimcentral.com/articles/reviews/brdf1sim/brd1.shtml
Rick is currently ranked 19th at GPLRank.

I paid 179 for the wheel. I paid 89 for my pedals, 80 for my GPL Shifter
and 276 for my Race Frame. I also paid 189 for my Act Labs Force RS and
Shifter, 129 for my LWFF and 60 for my CH Pedals. Do you want to know how
much my PC cost? I assume from this yo uthink that because I run RSC I get
free hardware. Unfortunately this is not the case. I have bought all my
hardware myself.

Mine has never let me down apart from a few broken springs (easily
replaced in a couple of minutes) and mine has had a full service and
steering upgrade from the makers about a year ago.
Mine is attached to my desk using two recessed lugs which were placed in
my desk after drilling two holes. the steering column is connected to the
two lugs via two quarter turn bolts, and it only takes about ten seconds
to either connect the steering comun or dicsonnect it.
Pictures are available on my website, go to this link:

Running a site got *nothing* to do with it Phil... It was just the way
your response sounded - to me - more like an infomercial than a "normal"
reply....
So i had to ask.

Still working on it... Right now the car is 'in bits' as the plastic-sills
and arches are at the paintshop for a spray :-)
Besides, 'still not managed to find any decent 17" wheels for it.... I'm
now beginning to consider sticking to 16" for summer aswell... - if I can
find any nice white rims in that size.
I'll keep you posted :-)

Psst! What did Fredrik say about it?

I think a few people have answered your questions on this. It sure is
a solid construction. The Thomas Enterprises wheels (TSW and TSW2)
are similar.
BTW, have you seen the new pedals from BRD...
http://www.interactiveracing.com/products/wheels/brdsim_speed7.asp
Lovely but not cheap. Haven't tried them yet but am thinking of
doing so.
They've also hinted of a new force feedback wheel under development.
From what I was told a few months ago, they were looking at a Summer
release...don't know if they've slipped on the dates. However, the
features of the new wheel sound very extensive (LCD, FF in the pedals
too, etc) and I've got a feeling that it's going to be waaaay out of
my budget. Not sure how all this hardware can best be used with our
present crop of games. I guess the electronics will make guesses on
what the car is doing in a game.
