Get those 96 nascar dats ready

Here are some of the changes for the upcoming season.  I took them from
the March issue of Circle Track & Racing Technology magazine.

Some of the cars were not listed (ie Gordon, Martin etc.).  I think
this is because there wasnt any reported changes from last season.  The
title of the article was NASCAR Teams of 96 Who's going where.

No sponsor was announced for the #7 at this time and I hear its Dr.
Pepper but chose not to list it because I haven't seen it confirmed
yet.

 #3 car:  May field a second team for SuperTruck Champion Mike Skinner

#11 car:  Brett Bodine Purchased the team from Junior Johnson

#21 car:  Is changing its paint scheme (Predominately orange with white
          and burgandy trim)

#27 car:  New Owner David Blair, Plan to run full schedule if sponsor  
          is found to replace outgoing Hooters

#30 car:  New driver Johnny Benson is last season's Busch Grand        
          National champion

#41 car:  Ricky Craven becomes part owner

#43 car:  Ferguson Enterprises becomes associate sponsor

#75 car:  Factory Stores becomes associate sponsor instead of primary

#97 car:  Owner Mark Rypien plans to run a full Busch schedule with up
         to an additonal five Winston Cup races

I hope this aids in all the inspiring artists to get the new cars out
before the Daytona (less than a month you know).

The update here is correct except for the sponsor of the #1 Rick Mast Pontiac,
which will be Hooters for '96(as reported on Nashville Network).

just read in Winston Cup Scene (issue of Jan 11, 1996) that Rick Mast
picked up Hooters as their sponsor for 1996...

(that one ought to be easy enough to do :)

More info (taken from various sites on the net):
#1 - Hooters takes over as sponsor
#2 - Miller Racing "new" sponsor, will promote MGD and Lite in "fine print"
#6 - new paint, resembles Martin's 1995 Brickyard 400 design
#8 - Kendall is new sponsor
#15 - Wally Dallenbach signed as driver for now, looking for sponsor
#42 - new red, blue and gold paint job
#43 - new silver and Petty blue 25th anniversary design
#71 - Olive Garden gone, new sponsor not announced yet
#77 - Federal-Mogul joins Jasper
#81 - Square D new primary sponsor, probably blue/gold colors
#87 - expect a new paint job
#94 - new paint, white accents on front of car
#99 - Jeff Burton's Exide ride is #99, not #98

Can't wait for Daytona! (too bad us Papyrus-sim racers can't race there)
