There seems to be a general problem on setting up a steering wheel device for
the new demo, F1 RS by Ubisoft. Let me try to help you in setting up your
steering wheel. After playing around with my ECCI wheel, I have noticed that the
game in my experience only recognizes "one joystick". Meaning, if you were to
use to steering wheel set for "independent seperated axis" for the gas and brake
pedals, your steering device will NOT be recognized in the game.
SOLUTION: If you have an "older" T2, you will have to use the "axis" convertor
supplied the package. If you have an ECCI system with the "Axis" option, you
must have the pedals set to the same axis. Same goes for TSW owners.
Also, you must have in the "control panel" for the "game controllers", the
selected device in the panel.
The Game Control Panel I am using is for Direct X 5. So far it works for me.
What I did notice about this Windoze 95 environment games, is that your control
device better be listed in the Game Control Panel or you will not see your
device working.
If your game was designed for DOS environment, btw, DOS is DEAD; ) , it really
doesn't matter in my experience what device says in the Game Control Panel. As
long it says "connected properly."
I hope this clears up some problems.
take care
