OT: BENQ/ACER flashware upgrade ruined my dvd-rom drive

I just had to get this off my chest, my drive wouldnt read dvd's properly,
so I tried using their flashware upgrade program, and it killed my drive.
They charge 50 dollars plus shipping to repair it, so I had to go out and
buy a new drive. I am so pissed.

1. HUs with DVD-ROM but no video playback?
