If Papy's last sim will be N2003 what is a sim racer supposed to do. N
thunder is a joke.

First off it won't recognize my TSW. Here we go again. F1 2001 did not, 2002
did. I figured EA had this simple issue sorted out. Wrong. Papy's games
never had controller issues.

Seems like a modern day N Heat. Which could be ok but if EA already knows
what Papy is capable of why not try to top them. So this is what we are
stuck with. Great...

I was just burned for $40. Took the game back to EB and they gave me a store
credit.

Well watch for a post coming in the next few weeks. My TSW GT will be up for
sale. Best offer gets it. It is in great condition.

I would rather spend my time doing something more constructive.

Pity...after GPL I thought the future of racing sims looked very bright.
Please don't mention the West brothers as saviors either. They should be
working for EA.

Goodbye to pc racing...

Your trip to salvation will begin with twenty laps of Silverstone in the
new GPLEA BRM.

Bless you my son.

Out of curiosity, I went to the store and bought the game... I have one
thing to say:
BWAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

But that wouldn't be totally fair. Graphics are unimpressive and as "grainy"
as the pictures seen on the internet. I got my TSW to work in WinXp, but the
controller interface is one of the least user friendly I have seen.
1) For some reason, the car would loose power (no other way to explain it)
in the corners. You have to come to a dead stop in the corners and shift to
Neutral to get going.
2) FPS take a HUGE hit when you open the pit menu window, and that was only
in testing, with no other cars on the track.
3) Graphics look crappy. I'm sorry, but I'm gonna stick with N2002 for quite
some time.
4) again control setup is way too convoluted. What's digital value anyway? I
thought digital input was for gamepads on/off type of interface...

Good things:
1) you can adjust tire wear and fuel consumption in regards to the race
length.
2) the sound isn't too bad.

Pourquoi, pourquoi? ? :)

The worst thing, is that the game engine gives us very crappy tracks.  The
accuracy is not good at all, in fact it's around the level of what Papyrus
had back in N2.

Because I'm an idiot who thought that this GAME might have some potential
(based on some screenshots and previews/short reviews I've read).

NT2003 doesn't qualify as something fun. Heck, the thing doesn't even work
right in a testing session (the car stalls mid corners... you have to "push"
start it back in neutral... I mean come on...). The tracks look awful. Watch
any in-car camera from a Cup event and tell me those tracks look
realistic...

Is N2002 by Papyrus totally realistic? I don't know about totally but it
seems reasonnable to think that a sim that requires some practice to be
fast, with some garage tweaking that actually does something, online ***
that is both entertaining (in a league) and challenging be enough to satisfy
any simmers interested in Cup racing (perhaps emulating their favorite
drivers on their pc... :) to all those Bodines out there).

everybody? ;-P

Funny enough, I simulated through a few races of a championship season
to see how the season mode in NT2003 is (basically exactly like F1
2002, altho from what I can tell it doesn't properly credit 5 points
for leading the most laps, just for leading a lap).  The first race,
at Daytona, went to Todd Bodine who led about 160 laps. =)
