From a sim standpoint, that is. It might be a fine arcade racer, but who
cares?
I've driven at Laguna and MidOhio, and both courses have been mangled in
this game, MO in particular. The elevation changes (and non-changes) are
completely wrong.
The cars seem to accelerate too quickly, stop too quickly, and weigh
nothing. No feeling of inertia. Everything feels very 'binary', not
fluid at all.
Granted, I'm playing this with the standard controller, not a wheel, but
*still*... I'm disappointed; graphically it's nice, but for driving
dynamics, it doesn't seem any better than the PSX CART game, or even the
PSX 'Andretti Racing' of a few years back.
Hopefully, it's a game that'll get better with some more playing time.
Here's hoping Papy gets to work on a CART 3 soon, if they're not already
working on it.
