: We lowered the "enemy" drivers down to Amatuer and I'm sorry
: to report that it did NOT help. I finished a solid LAST.
: These guys are really tough, plus they have good setups.
: I drove like crazy and could not stay with the field and then
: could not catch the field.
: I think that the ACE level is going to take some real work on
: car setups and near perfect lap performance.
: I rode with a couple of the CC drivers and the simply do NOT
: make any mistakes...as in none. That is the trick as far as
: I can see. We drove some competitive times and speeds with
: them, but we made too many mistakes. A spin here, a tire in
: the grass there and before you know it you are down a half
: a lap and it's basically over except the final score.
: I REFUSE to drop to Rookie...too much pride left over from
: my F1GP I days, I guess. I used to run top 3 consistently in
: ACE level in the old one...that was then, THIS IS NOW...hehehe

Amateur isn't all that tough. I've done three races so far, with a bes
finish of third at Imola (should have been second, but thats another
story). I was running fifth in Brazil too, until my engine blew on the
30-somethingth lap. The higher levels are going to be really hard,
although a good setup or too would help - I'm running pretty much on
default at the moment.
BTW, I refuse to drop to Rookie as well - after wiping the floor with
everyone at ACE level (I won 15 of 16 races at 100% length) I have
still got some pride.
Ben.
