N4 - increase AI fuel consumption for shorter races?

by Kevin Clar » Tue, 27 Nov 2001 22:46:28

Me and a friend want to have an online championship with some AI cars.
We don't have time to race 100% distance so we're going to try 20-40%,
but to make it more interesting we'd like to have to do pit stops.

Is there any way to change the AI so they use fuel faster and hence have
to pit early?
Can we apply it to our cars too?
Something in one of the ini files?

Thanks

Kev

They will pit when you pit on races shorter than a full fuel run

Most definitely-you want to change the "AI fuel use" to a higher figure

in the track.ini file.

As an aside, I have noticed that your car is sometimes more or less
stingy with fuel than the AI cars are-usually no more than +/- 5 laps either

way.  You have to carefully tweak the above parameter to make everyone
equal...

Turn the damage model on. Half the AI will wipe themselves out within 10
minutes, they'll all have to pit.

I've been running some 35% Grand Prix's, and usually about 4-5 get knocked
out either from a wreck or mechanical failure.
