supporters are claiming to support this game just so that way they***
with simmers. Its seems there are three specific people doing
think these guys are as funny as hell in their postings. ANYTIME they
post about N-Rev, they think they have to mention "hard-core sim racing
freaks" in their posts. Now, my question is, why is this neccesary?
Let's get something straight here.
First of all, read the name of this newgroup:
rec.autos.SIMULATORS
Now, I don't care if you post in here about NFSIII or N-Rev, and I
should hope that none of the sim-fans in here should either. But to come
in here and deliberately insult sim enthusiasts is completely uncalled
for. Awhile back in rmolony's posting entitled "Nascar Rev... Another
Cool Thing..." he stated something I'd like to address..
If you don't need a flame from us, then leave the friggin' newsgroup!
You know the name of this newsgroup says SIMULATORS. If you come in
here, post insulting comments to sim racers, then expect flames. Simple
as that.
Second thing. I hear several remarks about how sim-fans started the
whole war, making accusations that just because it doesn't come under a
Papy label, then its worth crap. You know, there are other companies
that sim-fans enjoy. Bethesda has a really good drag racing sim in
Burnout, while Motorsports Simulations Inc. looks really promising with
AMA Superbike. So before you think we're all Papyrus worshipping people,
do a little research. Another misconception, that sim-fans picked apart
N-Rev simply because it was in opposition to the Papy NASCAR series. For
the most part, I believe what got sim-fans started on discecting N-Rev
was EA's bold claims on a "complex, hard core simulation". With those
claims, we will pick apart any game released, to see if they match their
claims, or if they don't. I, for one, was really hoping EA had created a
complex sim, just because of the fact it offered more variety to the
market, but I was dissapointed.
Third, and finally...N-Rev isn't even as much fun as an arcade game. I
have heard this several times from people who are strictly arcade
racers. Now, in my opinion, here's what makes up a good arcade racing
game. First, an obvious sensation of speed, which has been proven that
N-Rev lacks. Second, a good challenge that's somewhat difficult, yet
anyone can beat. And seeing some race reports on the EA bulletin board,
you can't have a challenge when the AI crashes every other lap.
With all that out of the way...it leaves me to wonder if you N-Rev
supporters actually enjoy your game as much as you claim. You can enjoy
a game or sim without insulting people on a newsgroup. If you like it so
much, then spend more time playing it instead of agitating people.
right ahead...but please refrain from taking cheap shots at me like a
couple of you did in the past. You will receive no response to that as I
don't feel there is a need to reply to flames that have nothing to do
with the subject. (Yeah, I was wondering, Mister "EA Rules!", what me
getting laid has to do with the subject at hand?)
Well, I'm finished. Did I type all of that? :)
