>Hi everybody,

Too true ... I have used the GP2DAMED patch in the hope that fewer
miraculous recoveries eventuate when AI cars spin off into walls or
into each other, and then carry on regardless and seemingly undamaged.
I have blown up an engine in practice, otherwise no problems of any
sort (though I have to say watching the engine burn with 'me' sitting
there seemingly quietly knitting instead of leaping out and running
for cover is a little odd).
However, the GP2DAMED patch does not affect reliability, and finishing
a race with 22 of the 26 still going is more than a bit unrealistic
.. if you are leading (or near to the front) you spend a lot of time
picking your way through a rather crowded circuit. It's like a
continuous opening lap.
Then again, if you are towards the back (after spinning off yet
again), it's the same story with traffic ... at least you never feel
lonely. In GP1, if I was doing particularly badly, I could spend half
a race without seeing another car.
