Viper Racing

This may be old news, but first I've heard of it. Got my latest
Interaction magazine the other day, and noticed an article about a new
sim coming down the pipes called Viper Racing. The article reads:

"Currently being developed by MGI in conjunction with Papyrus, Viper
Racing promises to be a revolutionary achievement in sports-car racing
simulations. Lead programmer Richard Garcia, one of the founders of
Papyrus who left the security of a powerhouse development team to form
MGI, is understandably thrilled with the prospect of finally seeing
the fruits of his labor after two years of development"

"Viper racing will feature eight different closed tracks (six road
courses, one tri-oval, and one oval), different classes of Dodge
Vipers (from stock Vipers to hot-rodded 650 horsepower behemoths), and
a complete garage area where drivers can tweak nearly every aspect of
their car's performance and handling. The game will also support all
major brands of Direct 3D hardware acceleration."

No mention of a release date.

Interact-mag isn't quite right: the game/sim is in conjunction with
Sierra Sports, not Papyrus.  The rest of what's said is pretty much
spot-on.  Here's some additional stuff...

Minimum requirements:
 - Pentium 166Mhz
 - 32 Mb RAM
 - D3D compatable card - works best using Voodoo or Voodoo-2
 - Dx6  - also works with Dx5 but reduced performance

Game Features:
 - Full 6-deg. physics
 - Damage model
 - Multiplayer options include IPX, TCP/IP and H2H using modem
 - 8-different driving views (in-car, front, arcade, etc.)
 - Replay with telemetry
 - Ghost cars for hotlapping
 - Paintkit with dozens of templates

Release Date:
 - Mid/Late November

Cheers!

Marc
