Wasn't Dukes of Hazzard released some time ago then? That was the
beta, but now they seem to be bankrupt, and the Wests are enjoying
bhuddist sessions in Nepal to regroup for Dukes II.
Also, what's the latest word on Pole Position from Atari? Seems
they're republishing those classics for the GBA. How about that. :)

The only part I don't like is that 'future' word :-/

Now you sound like Captain Picard :)

LOL! Dukes of Hazzard came out for the PC about 17 years ago, IIRC, it was
the first fully 3-D holographic based game for the Apple IIe. Remember those
crazy laser monitors?
I thought the Wests told you not to tell anyone about the buddhist sessions!!
Geeze.. Now that the cat's out of the bag, you might as well let them know
that GPL 6.0 will be released by the Wests in 2005, after the Dukes II : "Farm
Frenzy Redneck Racing Rampage" is finished. They're skipping GPL 4.0 and 5.0
since GPL 2.0 and 3.0 were so successful. 6.0 will make 50% more money than
4.0 would obviously (since 6.0 divided by 4.0 is 1.5), so they're going right
to version 6.
Pole Position was canned. It was supposed to be turned into an "arcade" racer,
where you'd actually have to pay twenty five cents PER game, if you can believe
that! Here's an excerpt from the CEO of Atari on Pole Position's cancellation:
"We regret to inform the racing community that after several seconds of
deliberation, we have decided to cancel the Pole Position project. We simply
do not believe that anyone would pay twenty five cents to play a complicated,
completely realistic simulation of a Formula one racing car in short, two or
three minute bursts.. A full 80 lap race would cost about $20, while a 60
minute practice session would cost $30. The concept of the "stand up" racing
***pit and "pay per use arcade game" is nothing short of ridiculous, and will
never work anyway, so we are pursuing other projects."
<sigh>... Guess Pole Position will never see the light of day after all :-(

Ah yes, Vectrex on the IIe. Gosh, I wonder if there is a parallel
universe where time actually is backward (after all, there's always a
balance, so if in our universe time goes forwards, some other universe
must have time going backwards). They're now playing GPL6.0 then
probably, only to see it disappear and they would go back to 5.0.
Oh gosh, you're right. But I just came back from a flight in the Space
Shuttle and typed my post while descending before I read my mail when
coming back to my castle (which has a nice landing strip for the
shuttle).
...
Ah, damn, I would have paid twenty SIX cents for that!
But actually, really, the old Atari coinops are going to be
reintroduced. No really, yes, really. When the games still had
gameplay as its main asset, ah. :)
Fortunately we have WSC 2.0 to look back to. :)
