I finally got to spend some time playing Viper Racing.  When you finally get
all the upgrades you can buy while still in the "club" class the car really
gets fun to drive.

GPL is still better but Viper Racing is pretty good in its own right

If it hadn't hit the shelves at the same time as GPL, I think we'd
hear a lot more people singing praises for Viper Racing.  And if had
preceded GPL by a large margin, Viper Racing would have set a new
benchmark for realistic physics modeling in racing sims.  As it is,
though, GPL has greatly overshadowed Viper Racing, which is a shame
because it's such a great game.

FWIW, I've heard that Viper Racing has out-sold GPL, though, which
means that while many aren't singing its praises here in the
newsgroup, the quiet majority has been voting with their wallets. <G>

Thats mainly because its a mainstream product and the viper is a well known
sports car and people would love to drive it. Talk to anyone about sixties
cars, and they think the cars are probably real slow, and they probably dont
know what a Brabham or a BRM is at all, never mind an Eagle-Weslake.
Cheers
