Gp3 Car editor - lock ups - why?

Hello everybody
I am running GP3 v1.13 all decrypted etc, full 2000 season cars and tracks,
When I patch the game with a new car shape using car editor v3.4, when I
restart the game it crashes during the early screens and refuses to run!!
Any suggestions would help as this is the only thing I am unable to
alter.......
