Well, the guys from the GPLEA have been pretty quiet of late, but these
"works in progress" shots show that they've been very busy - really
astonishingly good stuff:

http://www.racesimcentral.net/

Take particular note of the drivers' helmets - all appear to be fully 3D
now, with individual (accurate) paintjobs for each driver's helmet.  Both of
the Hondas are based off the Ferrari 3DO apparently (which makes sense,
given the engine configuration and "nest of snakes" exhaust).  The Eagle is
apparently very close to release (yay!), with only minor tweaks to the 3DO
still to be done.

Rick...

That capability has always been in GPL.  Same with the colored engine
components and driver's arms (colored suits) and hands (gloves) with rounded
knuckles and life-like fingers instead of "blocks."  Its just that nobody's
done it yet (until now).  I never could figure that out....???

They look terrific. Let's just hope that the matched***pits, suspension
units and shocks are as good as (if not better than) the jf 1.2 (update 2)
carset. Or perhaps we could marry those to these bodies?

Great work GPLEA!

Alan

Alan.....could you be more specific about the "jf 1.2" update for shocks and
suspension?  Got a URL for it?

Hi Tom,
If Alan and you are talking about the carset I am thinking of, the URL
is:  http://qsilver.webmages.com/jfcarset/

If not....well...heh...can't help you. :-(

So... do these guys have incredibly low GPLRanks, hence they can
afford to spend time creating carsets - or ridiculously high 'Ranks
because they never spend any time driving? ;-)

It's just knuckl... oh we already have been there ;-D

Seriously, somebody needs to do a non-buggy winged 68 car.  The number of
additional polygons wouldn't be that much imho, and the current power of our
PC would handle it without a problem, I say.

That I don't have time to play GPL as much as I'd like, never mind
spending hours developing new graphics or whatever :-(

Things go together.
It's the same with me.
I'm almost able to dismantle and reassemble the LWFF on the long straight at
Nurring.

BTW: Doing that at Avus is no challenge ;-)
