ATI 9700 Pro -- any issues with GPL or other older titles?

Heard lots of bad stuff about the drivers for this card (surprise since it
is ATI), though the hardware is great apparently.  What about compatibility
with older titles, especially GPL?  Any issues?

Thanks,

Marc

I tried it in D3D using a friend's 9700 Pro - no problems.  I was using the
latest proper drivers and didn't get a chance to try the beta drivers with
16-bit AA.

16-bit FSAA is now available in the final release: v3.1.

I've got a 9500 Pro (same card, basically) w. Catalyst 3.0s and it runs GPL
just fine...in D3D.  OpenGL is dead slow (ATI is infamously poor w. OpenGL).
The 3.1 Cats seem to be a mixed bag.  The wonks over on the www.rage3d.com
forums seem to be running into some odd probs with N2003, particularly Sears
and the Glen.  Some have no probs at all--particularly w. nForce
mobos--others can't get the road courses to work at all.  The 3.1s seem to
improve performance considerably, but ATI doesn't recommend you swap drivers
(unlike nVidia!) unless you're having probs.  I think I'll wait.
