Brands Hatch...Help me cure this please !!! (long)

I am about to smash the keyboard because of this.(yes I have a bad temper)
My problem is at Brands Hatch in just about any car. Right now I am fighting
with the Lotus. Seems I can't cure a *** tendency to snap oversteer after
an understeer situation.
Mainly low speed midturn.Usually can't recover from it. If I didn't know
better I would think the brakes are dragging. NOT THE CASE. I have
downloaded and modified just about every setup I can find. To date I have
run a best of 1:38:25 in the Lotus. I know I could run at least 2 seconds
faster if I could just not have to compensate for knowing this is going to
happen.(fear factor).I know most of you are going to tell me I need to
change my driving style but when I do it costs me dearly. I need to change
the car to suit me.I simply need  some direction for changes to help cure
this. Your particular car setup probably won't help as it suits you and you
only.
I have this problem to some degree at all tracks with all cars but it is
magnified a hundred fold at Brands.
Thanks for any help.

Follow Ed's advice and try raising the car a bit as well.  You're probably
bottoming on the bump ***s coming off.  I had BIG probs solving this in
the Eagle.  I have yet to really take a hard look at Brands, but I was
getting into the 1:37s and 1:36s there after a bit of practice.

BTW, I started with a Zandvoort setup.

I had that problem with the Eagle. I tried just about everything and I was
getting very frustrated. I ended up reducing the clutch by 1 and that did the
trick. I am now an official GPL happy camper once again.

I believe reducing the clutch ties the rear wheels more loosely together and
results in more understeer. I use Alison Hines trick of checking the rear temps
out of a corner
(pg 55 of GPL "4 Wheel Drift" manual).

Hope that helps Turbo!

Thanks to all who posted and e-mailed help. A special thanks to Steve Blank
who e-mailed me a killer Lotus setup. In 12 laps Steve's setup got me within
.42 seconds of the 2 second improvement I knew I could get with a setup more
suited to me.(new fast lap of 1:36:43). As I make changes to my driving and
the setup who knows, I might see some 1:35's.
Thanks again Steve.

I don't know if I feel sorry for you if you can get 2 sec under 1:38,
(my best is 1:37.82). I had a similar problem, on all tracks. If it's
worse at low speed in bends, when you have a lot of lock on, it could
be pots. I re-installed drivers, re-installed GPL, after a hard drive
upgrade, and the problem went away. I don't know the exact reason.
I didn't change pots. I only can suspect that it was drivers or
something ***ed the registry. In any case, the problem is NOT
normal. My system is performing supremely well now. Another problem
which vanished was the need to re-calibrate when changing tracks or
cars, so that obviously is not normal either. Good luck.

Raise the ride height considerably and if it is still noticeable, raise the
bump ***s.  You can try them in any order but it will feel better as you
go up.
