Is my computer OK for these sims?/Cost of equipment

Hello,

I have not yet gotten a computer but have been
looking for some time now and will get one soon.

The specs I have been looking to get would be:

Hard Drive - 20GB
Memory - 128MB 133 MHZ SDRAM
Video Card - 32MB NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 4X AGP

My question is, would this be enough to run
Nascar4 or Nascar Heat pretty well? If not, what specs
should be upgraded and to what? I have never played these
on somebody elses computer so you might have to be specific
on what improvements in the playing would be upgraded
and whether or not it would be worth it to spend the
extra money on upgrading the specs.

Also, what are the opinions on these 2 sims?
Which one is more realistic, etc? Do they both
have the different tracks on the Nascar circuit?

Here are some questions about cost of stuff so
I can see about how much I will have to invest in this.
What brand steering wheel works the best?
How much do they cost and where is the best place
to get them at? Do the foot pedals come with the steering
wheel or are they separate? If separate, how much do they cost
and what brand is the best?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

I have a PIII650 running at 911Mhz and a original GeForce 256 32Mb DDR and I
run N4 at 1023x768.
I use 35 cars ahead and 60% world detail and get 32-83fps.

Heat is very easy to run with this setup.

Jeff I had a P3 800mhz but just moved up to a 1ghz. Anyway my
P3 800mhz kicked azz but I had the GF2GTS'Pro with 64meg &
256megs of PC133Dram. I would recommend this for you too if
you can afford it. Of course the specs you indicate should be fine
too... Good luck Thom_j.

As far as NASCAR Heat vs. N4 goes that depends on if you play offline or
online. IF you want to play online then N4 is the way to go, but if offline
is your thing then I would say NASCAR Heat.  N4 is just horrid offline, I
think AI stands for Artificial Ignorance. The physics in N4 are better than
Heat, and Heat doesn't have a built in match making service to find races so
it really comes down to what you want to do.

I would get a GF2 GTS instead of the MX.  If you look around you can find
the GTS pretty cheap, particularly the Sparkle one (130 UK).

An Athlon is better.

20GB is allright but not for long. Games use up more hard drive space every
day. Make sure you get a 7200rpm drive.

256MB is better and not that expensive anymore.

A GTS should not be much more expensive and is a lot faster.
