Hotlap times from the net?

I'm not sure about this, but I suspect those 'incredible' lap times we
seen from the net are from 'human cars' that have more than 790/780 hp.
We know that there are 3rd party programs that allow hp to be edited - to
as much as 1000 hp.

Is this true? Anyone got any ideas?

Hi!  I'm upkeeping ICR2 Hotlap list at
 http://stekt.oulu.fi/~mickkeys/icr2/times.html

I know it's possible to cheat in many ways, but I'm sure that _most_ of
the
times in my list are real (I guess it's possible to edit RPY files
somehow).

Driving an amazing lap is up to _excellent_ setups, some skill, good
driving device and the most important: _hundreds of laps_ and calm mind.

There's some of my times:  Phoenix 190.490mph,  Portland 58.167,
Nazareth 191.484mph

I got my Portland time from 58.8 to 58.167 in about 4 to 6 hours of
practising.

Serious hotlap competitions like Dave Gymer's HOF2 (search Alta Vista for hof2)
check the laps, by means of software and/of viewing and analysing the replays.
So most of those "incredible laps" you see are for REAL!

I think they are all real.  By the way, I have some worldclass record
times that are close to the world record and are worth mentioning.  At
Taladega, in an IndyCar in ICR2, I qualified second in a Single Race at
248.993 MPH.  The world record is 250.851 MPH.

Hmmmmm, I run consistent high 152's at Talley. Does that mean I am the
new record holder?

What was the temp set at?  I have personally done 255.935 (38.005 secs),
but that was with a 120 degree temp.
