I have a TM Nascar Pro Digital Wheel/Pedals and am trying to get them to
function well in RC. I have set up the pedals on the Y and Z axes but the
wheel, instead of showing X axis shows <left> and <right> in the contol
setup. When I play, the wheel feels very "digital" and the cars are hard to
control (the wheel feels very good in GPL demo or N3).  Has anyone had this
problem? Does anyone know a fix.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It's just the way things work in this game, the feeling of the steering
wheel is very digital, and that is one of  the few critisism against this
game. The car just dont have any realistic feeling, it just feels to
digital.

Get the following free utility:

http://home.att.net/~stickworks/ctfj12.zip

CTFJ Joystick Centering Utility. It modifies the calibration
values used by W95/W98 to compensate for some problems
in the Windows joystick routines and will improve the centering
of the joystick and rudder pedals with many W95 games.

..and set 2 or 3 clicks up in the X-Axis in it.

I use a TSW and RC2000 steering feels great with this utility.
Other titles that steer -much- better are NFS-HS, Driver,
OF1R, TOCA2 and LeMans.

Give it a try.

What do you have the steering sensitivity sliders set to? There is one in
your player settings screen, and another at your car set up screen. All the
way to the left would be best to start with, then as you get used to the
steering you might want to move the slider in the car set up screen more
towards the middle to give you a tighter turning radius.

You need to adjust the steering sensitivity, it takes a few minutes
to fine tune the steering, but it is well worth it, see my webpage (tips
section) for more info on how to do this....

I have same Wheel/Pedals, and the Thrustmaster driver doesn't appear to
work very well.  There is a dead area around the center, and when it leaves
the dead area, it jumps (it should move out smoothly).  Thrustmaster has
not fully admitted this problem to me, but they say they are investigating
it.  In the mean time, I am using the "HID-compliant game controller",
rather than the Pro Digital one, and my problems when playing NFS4 have
gone away.

Thanks, I solved the problem the old fashioned way. I took back my TMPD
wheel (the bastards had the temerity to hit me up for 15% "restocking" fee)
and got a LWFF. The pedals aren't that bad (not as good as the tm) and once
you've felt the force you will never go back. In RC2k FF really adds to the
experience.
