Have Papy modelled sound distortion as they have other physical
details on the cars? Would it be possible to calculate the doppler
effect on each sound? Have they done so? (I've yet to upgrade my
system to run it.)

Well, my SB PCI128 gives me sound distortion in GPL, but I don't think
it's
the kind you're asking for... ;^)
