HTML is great for e-mail, but most of us don't want it in our PLAIN TEXT newsgroups.

BZZT. HTML is great for web-pages. MIME is ok for e-mail (I prefer
plain text). Newsgroups should be plain text, unrelated text should be
removed when you reply, and the reply should be beneath what you reply
to.

Dude Mike, you are stepping into the REAL Usenet here.  While those
unknowledgeable people from the "other" community post in a ration of 1:3 in
HTML, here it's 1:999.  Don't do it, I see that you've taken the correct
steps.  Just a little warning, this isn't friendly like the "other place".

Funny thing is, I never received the original HTML-posting. :-) Perhaps my ISP
has good filters in place. :-D

Btw, that .sig of his is really impressive, too. A bit like yours in the ol'
days, ymenard.

Yeah many newsserver software ignore any kind of binary posting in
non-binary newsgroups like this one, so even HTML messages don't pass
through as they are a normal mime message with a HTML binary code attached
to it.  It's something AOL/WebTV'ers learn the hard way :)       Or, perhaps
you force HTML messages as NNTP mime posts.

Mike has had some much more bizarre .sig files then mines from to time.  Eh
Mike? :)

I mean, looking at my past .sig files, they weren't "that" bad as people
remember them to be!  I like mine now, I'll be keeping it for a long time.
I've cut a line out of it a couple of weeks ago.  Now it's as small as I can
ever make it to be.
