Hey all,
Picked up NSR taoday and wasn't really expecting to be blown away, but I'm
even less impressed at this point....I get to 98% of the files transferred
during install, and then the game "has a problem" transferring any more
files. 46GB left on c: drive.....I tried several of the tips supplied by EA,
scanddisk, defrag, a "safedisc" update, empty temp files, no joy, I've tried

it installed slowly, but it finished, and ran when it was done. With no sort
of messing around beforehand, just stuck in the cd, stuck 2nd one in when
asked, and it worked.
My System specs...I don't think it's my system, I think it's EA,  but what
the hell:
Asus P4P800 Deluxe mobo

Radeon 8500Pro 128
1G pc3200 Ram
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
WinXP Pro SP2
Anyways, several other folks having same issue on the EA boards, and no
replies from EA at all, I'm hoping some smart guy in here will shed some
light.
BTW, No Daemon tools, ***, or Nero either.

I had something like this happen on the demo, it would say it couldnt
copy readme.txt cause there was already a file there or something. What
happened was that there were 2 separate install routines, one to unpack
the files, and another to install them, and they couldnt have the same
name even though it looked like the same install program. Now I dont
think the full version does it the same way, but it shows the installer
is probably flaky. So before installing it again, uninstall whats there,
erase the directory (check for stuff in my documents too), and try
installing to a new directory or a new drive (if possible)

Let's not start scaring Nero owners off this game. There is no problem
with Nero and EA games. Kind of dumb of them to think that defragging
might solve an install problem though. If it installed on your other
PC fine then it may be that your game cdrom is marginal in a certain
area and your cdrom drive is having trouble reading those files that
are located in that area of the cd. Just an idea.
