NFSIII, fast CPU improves handling

by Hans-Martin Ha » Sun, 04 Oct 1998 04:00:00

I just upgraded from a 200MMX (overclocked to 250MHz) to a Celeron 300A
at 462MHz. To test the new system, I installed the latest NFSIII demo. I
guess that the Voodoo I card is already at its limit, as the framerate
didn't improve a lot.

However, the handling of the Corvette improved a lot! On my old computer,
the car would understeer through the corners and trying to get a rear end
slide to line up the car before cornering was almost impossible. The end
result was that I in almost each and every corner went wide and crashed
into the barriers. This has completely changed with the Celeron CPU. The
car steers beautifully into the corner, and it is even possible to get a
rear end slide or powersteer through the corners. Great!
